So what is NEPMo, anyhow?

NEPMo, which is an acronym for National Epic Poetry Month, is a self-contest to challenge yourself to write a 5,000 line epic poem in the month of May.

But why an epic poem?

Well, if you wanted to write something else, there are dozens of other similar programs, such as National Novel Writing Month. Writing an epic is not something people often try to do, and NEPMo is as good opportunity to do so. It's also a good break from writing as usualy. Mix it up a bit!

Are there any requirements for NEPMo?

Nope, just a good imagination and a will to participate!

What happens if I don't finish my epic in time?

You get a partially-written epic, a plot, a base of characters, and the bragging rights to say "Hey! I tried my hand at writing an epic poem!"

Can I start with an epic that I've alreaty begun?

Absolutely not.

So how are we supposed to verify that we won anyhow? Can I just say that I have 10,000 lines even if I don't?

As of now, there's no way for us to know if you've got the amount of lines or not, so we're using the honor system. The only one you'll be cheating if you lie is yourself.
